HOW to USE the SITE

Tip- check out the Play Sounds in the Background section in the right sidebar. They are peaceful, natural sounds and will play continually as long as you keep that page open. (Most browsers will support this looping function, but some may not.)

Tip- click on a picture to enlarge it, then you can move through all the pictures on that page with your arrow keys. There is also a little box in the upper right corner of the enlarged picture which will expand it even further.

This site is arranged around the metaphor of a Roadside Park, a place you can go to to get away from the Workaday World, enjoy a bit of the Natural World, and pursue some Enjoyment, whether that be Music, Food, the pursuit of a Healthy Lifestyle, or ways to cope with being Retired.

On the site, there are Pages and Posts. Pages are permanent, and are listed in the Menu across the top of the page, and as a list in the Footer. They are also listed as Categories, which you’ll see in the Footer at the bottom of the page. You can click any Category there to bring up a page with all the posts related to that Category. Posts are more ephemeral, I try to make several new ones each week. You will see the latest ones on the Home page and also in the right Sidebar of all the other pages. As they age, posts fall off these pages, but they have one, or more, Tags to help find them again. Tags are descriptive words about the Post’s content. As with Categories, you can click a word in the Tag Cloud, found in the Sidebar. Clicking a Tag will bring up a new page with all Posts with that tag. Most Posts will have more than one Tag.

There is also a Searchbox at the top of each page, click in the box next to the magnifying glass icon in the top right corner.  And, you can also look through the Site Archives via the dropdown menu in the Footer.
